Job Summary
You will be a responsible and engaged individual who is able to instruct, support and monitor students sitting remote examinations. As an invigilator, you will understand and implement guidance to support the successful running of high-stake International GCSE examinations. You will remotely monitor students sitting exams and raise any situations that may put the integrity of the exam at risk.
Invigilators will be paid £12 per hour. Payment will be made at the end of the exam series you are invigilating (a specific date of payment will be advised before an exam series begins).
Main duties and responsibilities :
- Use an online browser to invigilate onscreen and paper high-stakes exams.
- Use chat functionality to support student exam set-up and exam submission, ensuring guidelines are followed.
- Confirm the confidentiality and security requirements surrounding invigilation are known, understood and adhered to at all times.
- Report any suspected malpractice which may bring the integrity of the exam into dispute.
- Make use of the resources provided.
- Provide evaluation of each session invigilated.
- Encourage good practice by adhering to safeguarding, data privacy, security guidelines and Pearson Policies and Procedures.
- Provide timely responses to requests for operational-related information from Pearson and keep yourself updated on communications you receive from Pearson.
- Complete online training to the required standard.
- Promote children’s wellbeing. Recognise and respond appropriately to any concerns and help keep children safe.
Person specification
Essential
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally via online chat
- Hold an in date, Enhanced DBS
- Proficiency with basic ICT
- Provide concise instructions in dynamic circumstances
- Confident to make informed decisions based on training provided
- Good attendance and punctuality
- Flexible, motivated, and committed to high standard of working, with a willingness to learn
- Have a minimum of 5 GCSE (or equivalent) passes, including English
Desirable:
- Experience working with young people
- Experience invigilating exams or assessments
- Confident and reassuring presence
Additional Requirements:
- All post holders are subject to satisfactory disclosures and clearances prior to employment, which include renewal checks or Enhanced DBS checks in line with the Rehabilitation Act (ROA)1974, Online Screening and references.
- All applicants must be willing to enrol on the DBS renewal service.
- A reliable internet connection and a desktop computer (PC or Mac). Remote invigilation cannot be conducted effectively via a tablet or phone.
- Invigilators are required to confirm their availability in advance of the exam series.
- Invigilators will be required to access Microsoft Teams for the duration of their engagement
