Technical Director
Birmingham
£85,000+ (negotiable on experience)
Requirements:
Applicants must possess the necessary aptitude and skills to enhance our infrastructure geotechnical capabilities, contributing to the growth of our dynamic and adaptable team. The ideal candidate will serve as a Chief Geotechnical Engineer / Technical Director, demonstrating a history of technical prowess and effective project management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading geotechnical endeavours for significant projects spanning various sectors such as rail, highway, maritime, tunnelling, building, and land regeneration.
- Leading geotechnical efforts in strategic bidding processes.
- Cultivating professional connections to foster the expansion of ground engineering endeavours.
- Representing AtkinsRéalis at industry gatherings.
- Facilitating integration within the technical discipline and market leadership.
- Providing guidance to junior team members.
- Supervising, motivating, and nurturing staff.
- Initiating and overseeing developmental projects.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Extensive experience in sectors like highways, rail, energy, or water geotechnics.
- A solid academic background, ideally with an MSc or equivalent degree.
- Chartered status.
- Demonstrated experience as a Chief Geotechnical Engineer / Technical Director within a fast-paced engineering consultancy.
- Proficiency in project management, encompassing client relations, work planning, and commercial management.
- Proven expertise in geotechnical design.
- Familiarity with CDM Regulations in design and ground investigation contexts.
- Strong interpersonal and technical skills, capable of leading geotechnical design teams.
- Effective communication skills for client interactions.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating and executing projects.
- Strong report writing abilities with a focus on accuracy.
- Willingness to undertake short-term travel assignments both domestically and internationally.
- Possession of a valid UK driving license.
