Tree Officer
£28,831 - £35,508
37 Hours per week
About the role
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Tree Officer to support our Green Spaces service. The post is within the Environmental Services department and the role includes responsibility for:
Identifying and mapping relevant trees
carrying out tree inspections
managing safety and tree risk
commissioning tree works
providing arboricultural advice
designing and organising tree planting
woodland management
reviewing tree management policy.
You will ensure that trees within the borough are inspected to assess and record the condition and risk, producing reports. You will assist tree audit contractors in identifying trees within the remit of the council and to action tree work required for the safe management of the council’s tree stock.
About you
The team are looking for an individual who can demonstrate technical knowledge in the management of trees and woodlands. You will be an effective communicator as well as demonstrating an understanding of tree inspections and the maintenance required.
