Maths Maternity Cover (Secondary School) - Wythenshawe
We are working with a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Wythenshawe, Manchester, who are seeking an enthusiastic, qualified, and experienced Maths Teacher to join their dedicated team for a maternity cover position starting in April 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Maths at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE level). The role requires a strong understanding of the curriculum, excellent teaching skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Maths lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and resources
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages students' curiosity and engagement in Maths
- Maintain accurate records of students' attainment, progress, and achievement
- Participate in parents' evenings, departmental meetings, and professional development activities
- Ensure compliance with the school's policies, procedures, and expectations for teachers
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent UK or overseas teaching qualification
- Proven experience teaching Maths at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE level) in a UK secondary school context
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Maths at secondary school level
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students in learning activities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
