Job description
The TalkTalk Wholesale Change Team sit within the Product and Marketing department. The change team are responsible for the change framework, PMO, Change resources, and Business planning. The team are responsible for the delivery of the scope and benefits associated to the business cases. We are a central change function delivering all projects and programmes funded through the annual business planning cycle under the core delivery allocation.
About the Role
In this exciting and critical new role of Portfolio Lead, you’ll be accountable for the set up and delivery of all budgeted programmes that that sit under Product, Operations, and compliance. You will lead and motivate a team of five Programme Managers that will deliver the programmes within the portfolio. This specifically includes delivery of our product roadmap including future fibre, alt net additions, Network monetisation, and system strategy driving costs efficiencies.
You will be accountable for the management of spend and capex budget which delivers the benefits detailed within Business Planning. You’ll report into the Change Director who sits within the product and Marketing team under the Chief Product and Marketing Officer in a delivery capacity, with a high level of exposure through regular ELT (Executive Leadership Meetings) meetings.
What you will be working on
Programmes & Portfolio
You’ll lead delivery activities on behalf of the Change Director, in support of the strategic objectives Product and Business Operations, as well as Technology delivery activities, including all capital expenditure.
Accountable for leading major programmes such as future fibre, alt nets, system consolidation, ensuring that benefit is delivered as per the agreed and approved business case.
You’ll represent wholesale operations, product, and compliance deliverables in wider Platform X change planning to ensure end to end delivery activities remain aligned to product roadmap commitments.
Leading and inspiring the programme team to deliver business outcomes that enable ongoing business success, achieve customer success and operational efficiency metrics, you’ll lead and support internal and third-party resources supporting our programmes.
Annual and quarterly business planning. Working with leadership team to prioritise the capex submissions. Detail the business cases, justification, prioritisation against one plan.
Roadmap Ownership for group change and technology to plan and underpin a committed roadmap that is resourced and backed off within the delivery functions.
Resource Planning, Scheduling, Allocation & Tracking : Plan for & schedule resource assignments to satisfy delivery demand during all stages of the financial year, from business planning through in year delivery.
Delivery Objectives : Ensure that clear work packages/assignments and individual delivery focussed objectives are defined and measured – Scope clarity.
Capability Development : Define & drive people capability and competence levels for all roles within the team. Attract, recruit, develop & retain the right talent.
Management of the costs and capex envelope agreed at business planning
Own and manage the Bolt Approval Board ensuring stage gate governance for successful entry and exit criteria.
Success Measures & Reporting : Identify and track team success factors and team KPIs, including delivery (eg utilisation) and people metrics (eg tenure, attrition, development successes)
Senior Stakeholder Management
Engage senior stakeholders across TalkTalk through effective communication and reporting
Commercial & Strategic Awareness
Demonstrate an understanding of the wider business environment, within portfolios and beyond
Use nuanced understanding of the strategic, commercial and operational environment that may have an influence on in flight deliverables and Programmes
Support Business Financial challenges in a cost-effective way
