Job description
Get Golfing CIO, one of the UK's leading golf and hospitality operators, is seeking an Assistant Greenkeeper to join our team at Tadcaster Golf Club near York. As an Assistant Greenkeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the golf course at Get Golfing CIO. You will work closely with the Course Manager and the rest of the grounds team to ensure that the golf course is always in top condition for our members and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Mow and maintain the golf course turf using various equipment, such as tractors, ride-on mowers, and hand tools.
- Apply pesticides, fertilizers, and other treatments to maintain healthy turf and control weeds, pests, and diseases.
- Repair and maintain bunkers, hazards, and other areas of the golf course.
- Assist with irrigation system operation and maintenance.
- Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, and flower beds.
- Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Assist in the preparation and set-up of the golf course for tournaments and events.
- Respond to and resolve customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and friendly manner.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in greenkeeping or a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of turf care practices, including mowing, fertilization, pest control, and irrigation.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required.
