At B&Q we have a hybrid approach to working to increase flexibility in how we work. For this role we expect you’ll be working from our Store support Office as and when there is a delivery need. As Senior Financial Services Manager you’ll be responsible for our growing suite of payment propositions, driving overall customer consideration and choice for B&Q. This includes ways to pay instore and online such as gift cards, decorating cards for housing associations and other B2B stored value propositions, trade credit cards, consumer insurance and consumer credit accounts, offering interest-free, interest-bearing and buy-now-pay-later options. This role is both propositional and commercial, exploring new financial products and services we can offer, as well as being a broader leader within the Customer team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the strategy at B&Q for financial services and ways to pay, with a team of managers and executives to support you.
• Obsess about customer needs and evolving our portfolio of ways to pay to exceed their expectations, whilst also developing strategies to improve financial performance.
• Lead key relationships and ensure your team collaborates effectively with stakeholder teams e.g. Finance, Tech, Showrooms category, TradePoint. Ensure slick propositional handovers to marketing, driving commercial outcomes through innovative campaigns.
• Hold suppliers account to operational excellence for our customers and colleagues.
• Identify opportunities for financial services to integrate with our loyalty propositions (Club & TradePoint), increasing our understanding of customers and rewarding them with more value.
• Build on our visibility of customer data through appropriate supplier influence on data sharing agreements and tokenisation requirements.
• Consider the future digital & tech requirements of our propositions to best suit the evolving needs of our customers, working with relevant teams to develop and act on a roadmap to deliver this.
• Ensure your team, the wider business and our suppliers develop, use and reference our financial services products in compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, e.g. in marketing activations.

To be successful in this role you will have: 

• Excellent knowledge of financial services legislation and regulations, including UK Consumer Duty requirements
• Experience in customer proposition development within financial services / ways to pay
• Previously managed a P&L for financial services products, making product decisions to drive commercial outcomes.
• Externally curious about the evolving payments & financial services market, selling models and technology, incl. credit, insurance, open banking.
• A track record of successful engagement and leadership on strategic projects
• Strong communication skills to work cross-functionally across the business and manage external suppliers.
• Passionate about delivering transformation and change, with experience of leading strategic projects to improve capability, including technology implementation, proposition, long-term planning.
• Experienced in being able to analyse and interpret data to make informed decisions and drive business outcomes.
