Senior Contact Supervisor Start Date - ASAP Contract length - Initially 3 months Hours per week - 37 hours Rate of pay - £18ltd per hour About the Company Barnet Council is a leading provider of contact centre services for children in the Arnos Grove area.

About the Role The Team Leader will be responsible for the direct provision of professional, child-centred contact supervision within the Family Resource Centre and other designated locations as appropriate.
They will ensure the provision, recording, assessment, and monitoring of Child Contact, regarding children's racial and ethnic backgrounds and always with the needs and safety of the child as the paramount concern.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for their individual caseload, the keeping of accurate and relevant case files, and the completion and updating of risk assessments relating to service provision and environment.
Key Responsibilities - Direct provision of professional, child-centred contact supervision
- Ensure provision, recording, assessment, and monitoring of Child Contact
- Ensure service is delivered within its statutory obligations under legislation governing health and safety, fire safety, first aid, and risk assessments
- Offer direct provision of supervision of children, to family, friends and carers, working always within the terms of court orders and referring agencies conditions of contact and, in partnership with parents and carers
- Take responsibility for ones individual caseload, including prioritising tasks, the keeping of accurate and relevant case files, and the completion and updating of risk assessments relating to service provision and environment
- Engage with referrers, agencies and families in order to ensure the effectiveness of the service provided and ensure compliance from other parties with the terms of the Contact Agreement
- Provide concise, relevant and accurate recording of contact sessions in line with service guidance and informed by relevant theory, and careful recording of discussions and other communications with other agencies and professions
- Undertake on behalf of the service, observations of child and family contact and produce written reports
- Ensure intervention and action is in accordance with child protection procedures and the referring agencies conditions of contact
- Assist the Team Manager in implementing and developing an anti-oppressive practice and policy in all aspects of the service, including responsibility for the upkeep and provision of an age-appropriate, comfortable, child-friendly environment that is and culturally sensitive
- Contribute to service development and improvement, through review and evaluation
- Keep case records, both manual and computerised, up to date and take appropriate steps to maintain a satisfactory level of security and confidentiality
- Be aware of new legislation, guidance, and regulations
- Assist the Manager in ensuring the relevant use of IT systems and to undertake such training as might be required
- Work with the Team Manager to ensure a high level of confidentiality is maintained in all aspects of work
- Function as an energetic and committed member of a small staff team, by developing and participating in supervision, team meetings, team days and in-house training
Requirements - Experience in a Senior Contact Supervisor role
- Experience in providing child-centred contact supervision
- Knowledge of child protection procedures and relevant legislation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Good IT skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Flexibility in working hours and occasional Saturday working
