In return for your hard work and dedication as a Framework Estimator will receive:
• Up to £45k - £55k per annum for the right candidate
• Company Car or Car Allowance
• Hybrid working including home, on site, and in co-working office spaces
Reporting to the Regional Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for receiving, managing, processing and submitting tenders and quotations through existing framework contracts, as well as supporting the Quantity Surveyors with pricing significant Variations.
Responsibilities:
- Receive enquiries and tenders for works through framework contracts.
- Raise an Eque2 Quotation for each enquiry, completing the required information for management of the enquiry through the Quote Book and analysis by Business Development.
- Complete a BRMR (Bid Risk Management Record) form and comply with the BRMR process requirements for sign off approval.
- Co-ordinate and manage the tender process; arranging an initial start-up meeting, ensuring the correct resource is allocated, setting a tender programme and list of actions, liaising with key stakeholders through the tender process, and ensuring tender outputs are achieved and deadlines are met.
- Obtain prices for any surveys or investigations required in order to assist development of the Scope.
- Produce the Price in accordance with the contract and the Framework Schedule of Rates.
- Arrange and manage subcontract enquiries to obtain competitive prices for specialist works, and comply with any contract requirement for multiple quotations.
- Produce Price Schedules for directly employed labour and subcontractors
- Assess contracts for risks and opportunities, recording the details in a risk and opportunities register for use throughout the project.
- Produce a cost budget for each quotation/tender to calculate gross margin forecast.
- Lead Pre-Start Review meetings to handover projects to the delivery team.
- Form close working relationships with clients to identify their precise requirements and ensure that pricing schedules allow for the delivery of projects that accurately meet their expectations.
- Input initial Order Book turnover and gross margin projections with the details of confirmed tender successes.
- Assist with Framework Contract tenders to price framework schedule of rates.
We seek individuals who bring a fusion of practical industry experience and academic insight to deliver impactful results. You should have experience of accurately costing construction projects.
Essential:
- Relevant degree in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, construction related discipline, or significant work experience.
- Experience of pricing works to NEC contracts.
- Experience of pricing works from first principles.
- Proven experience of working under pressure in a close-knit team to deliver joint objectives.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with other team members, clients and suppliers.
- Possess strong IT skills, in particular MS Excel.
- Full driving licence.
