Job description

LT Selection, a prominent recruitment agency, is seeking a dedicated individual passionate about empowering learners with essential skills for success. As a Functional Skills Tutor, youll be instrumental in delivering effective and timely Functional Skills (FS) in line with our Regional Business Plan in the Western Region.

Responsibilities:

 

Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Functional Skills, encompassing English, Maths, and some ICT.

Prepare and plan for effective FS delivery, conducting engaging and interactive sessions both online and face-to-face.

Maintain accurate administrative records to monitor learners progress and communicate effectively with regional staff and management.

Focus on enabling learners to achieve FS promptly and in alignment with awarding organization standards.

Stay updated with developments in the field of expertise and ensure the welfare and safety of apprentices.

Requirements:

 

Fully qualified in level 3 Maths and English, along with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, or Cert Ed).

Previous experience in Functional Skills delivery within a post-16 environment is essential.

Assessor and internal verification qualifications are desirable, with full training provided if needed.

Strong IT skills, coupled with excellent administrative and organizational abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, managing time effectively.

Possession of a full Driving License and access to a car is mandatory.

Note: The majority of training will be face-to-face in Centres (Birmingham, Oxford, and Telford) approximately three days per week, requiring a fair amount of travel. You might need to hop between centres now and then. Travel expenses can be claimed. This role necessitates an Enhanced DBS check.
