Risk and Compliance Solicitor
Up to £65,000 + Benefits
BCL Legal are delighted to be working with this Multi Award Winning National Law Firm in Leeds with their search for a Risk and Compliance Solicitor.
The Risk & Best Practice team support the Director of Risk in the delivery of a highly effective and professional regulatory service.
They assume full responsibility for operating, maintaining and monitoring the firm's Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and ISO 14001), ensuring firm-wide compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and promoting Best Practice within the firm and by third parties working with the firm.
Due to organic growth, they are now looking for an additional Risk and Compliance Solicitor.
The Role
This is a rare and complex Risk and Compliance role and our client is looking for an extraordinary candidate.
Reporting directly to the Director of Risk Management your role will include:
Advising the firm's fee earners, business support departments and management on all aspects of Legal Compliance
Working close calibration with the SRA Standards & Regulations
Handling queries relating to other areas of Law including Market Abuse, Bribery Act, FATCA etc.
Advising fee earners on claims/claim circumstances
Responding to first tier complaints from clients and third parties
Appointing an Investigating Partner and collaborating with them on complaints
Assuming responsibility for all aspects of Money Laundering/Proceeds of Crime:
Supporting the Due Diligence team in client on boarding requirements
About you?
To be considered for this role you will be a skilled lawyer seeking a dynamic role in risk management and regulatory excellence. You may be looking to move away from a fee-earning role whilst continuing to undertake a crucial role in the firms success. The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor or barrister in England & Wales with a current practising certificate and a strong record of accomplishment in law firm risk management. A professional negligence or litigation background is an advantage but not essential.
