SEN Mentor
· Role location: Stockport, Greater Manchester.
· Starting date: ASAP
· Monday-Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm
· Salary: £85-95 per day depending on experience
As the successful SEN Mentor, you will be working with children to help facilitate teaching and learning across multiple year groups in all subjects. The successful candidate will assist the learners, understand values and ideas, and build their confidence and life skills. GSL Education are working with a thriving primary school in Stockport that are seeking a SEN Mentor to join them as soon as possible.
The school adhere to their vision to ensure the learners develop these essential skills and attributes to become the best version of themselves. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator and patient to motivate those who are disconnected with education.
Key Skills
· Establish and promote positive relationships with young people and other members of staff/parents, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
· Discuss with the class teacher the learning objectives and expected learning outcomes for each lesson or activity.
· Cover responsibilities also apply - managing a classroom, supporting students in their learning through prepared work.
You will be given clear instructions and resources for each lesson, which will require following the allocated lesson plan whilst maintaining a positive climate for learning, a quiet working environment, ensuring good order and helping students to learn independently.
