This role is pivotal in diagnosing, treating, and providing ongoing support for children and adolescents with various endocrine disorders, including diabetes, growth, and thyroid disorders. Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and manage hormonal disorders and conditions in pediatric patients, including but not limited to, diabetes, thyroid disorders, growth issues, and adrenal abnormalities.
- Devise, implement, and monitor individualized care plans, considering the unique needs of pediatric patients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including pediatricians, nurses, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals, to provide holistic care.
- Engage in ongoing communication with patients' families, offering them education and support regarding their child’s condition and treatment.
- Participate in research activities related to pediatric endocrinology, contributing to advancements in the field.
- Stay updated with the latest developments and technologies in pediatric endocrinology to provide cutting-edge care.
- Lead and contribute to peer reviews, clinical meetings, and professional development sessions within the department.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution and completion of a residency in Pediatrics, followed by fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology.
- Current registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), with a license to practice.
- Demonstrated experience in pediatric endocrinology, with a solid foundation in managing various endocrine disorders in children.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to empathise with children and their families.
- Commitment to continuing professional development and adherence to the highest ethical standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in research and teaching within pediatric endocrinology.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in healthcare.
