Job description
We are seeking to appoint a Director of Learning - English to lead our English department and to contribute to the wider curriculum network group as a key part of the extended leadership team. As an outstanding practitioner and subject expert, you will lead by example, taking responsibility for developing the curriculum and the delivery of English, ensuring pupils achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will lead and inspire the department to execute a well-considered curriculum through high quality and evidence-based teaching practices, within a climate that is underpinned by high expectations. The Director of Learning will play a key role in facilitating high standards of teaching and learning by guiding subject specific opportunities for professional development.
As a key part of the wider leadership group, it’s expected that the Director of Learning for English will form a key part of the curriculum network group, working closely with the Vice Principal responsible for Curriculum and Assessment and the Director of Teacher development to help shape the curriculum and pedagogical direction of the school. This is therefore an ideal opportunity for candidates looking to transition to a whole-school leadership role in the future.
