Job description

Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Caerphilly, Mid Glamorgan

We are recruiting for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Caerphilly, Wales.

This role is full time for 40 hours per week over 5 days, along with Saturdays from 9am to 1pm on a rota. Part time hours can be considered. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties

The practice is located on the outskirts of Cardiff and is fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

It provides a supportive and friendly working environment along with clinical freedom. The lead Vet is currently studying towards a GP certificate in orthopaedic surgery so if the Vet has an interest in Orthopaedics this practice is kitted out with the right equipment to be able to handle these procedures.

The practice also offers a stem cell therapist protocol which is performed on site. The practice boasts state of the art facilities such as Ultrasonic scanner with Doppler, laser therapy, digital x-ray and in-house laboratory.

Due to continued growth, they require an additional Vet. As the practice can offer specialist treatment with their facilities, they are expecting the practice client base to grow and will also be taking on referrals from other practices. This is an excellent opportunity for a Vet who wishes to progress and has ambition to study towards an area of special interest.

The vet must have good surgical and medical skills with some experience in emergency surgery. They will be confident with some sole charge work when required. They must have a friendly and approachable attitude and enjoy establishing work relationships and building a client base. They must also work well as part of a team and have good communication skills.
