Exciting Opportunity for a Head of Engineering in Belfast!

Are you an experienced engineering leader seeking a challenging role in a thriving financial technology company? I am delighted to be partnering exclusively with Wellington IT as they look for a talented individual to join their team as their Head of Engineering. This is a brand-new role and a rare opportunity to join a homegrown company backed by a billion-pound global empire as they experience a hugely exciting period of growth.

You will take ownership of their entire engineering function, leading their software engineers, QA’s and product owners on the development of bespoke software solutions for credit unions in the UK and Ireland.

About the Role: As the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of dedicated engineers and product owners. You will drive the development process from concept to delivery. You will collaborate closely with the senior leadership team to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software products. You will define the overall product roadmap and really inspire your team to be the best they can be!

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
• Define a Product and Technology roadmap for the business.
• Implement and maintain development processes, tools, and methodologies to optimise efficiency and quality.
• Work closely with stakeholders to define requirements and prioritise feature development.
• Stay on top of emerging technologies and industry trends, championing innovation and technical excellence within the team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven experience leading cross functional engineering teams.
• Strong technical background in software development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience working closely / managing product owners.
