Job description

Our client is a leading fabricator of products for the offshore industry. Due to recent growth and with new projects imminent, they now require a Process Engineer to work from their busy North East facility.


The Role


As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing and optimising construction methodologies for projects and structures going into production


Check and discuss the technical feasibility of drawings, 3D models and centre of gravity with the project engineer
Give instructions on how to prepare a mock-up
Establish a construction methodology for the production of a specific project and write instructions for it. For this, collaborate with our production manager and HSE staff.
Determine the tools and auxiliary steel needed for installation. For this, communicate with our various production sites regarding available resources, timing and budget
If necessary, arrange and order external resources from suppliers.
Ensure efficient use of existing resources and reuse materials whenever possible.
Prepare the project budget.
Prepare lifting plans in consultation with the transport department.
Write Risk Analysis Method statements.
Try to optimise the site in terms of efficiency and make improvements, where possible.
Will provide support to production managers by conducting inspection tours and solving ad hoc problems in production.


The Person


Degree in Industrial Engineering or similar
Knowledge of production equipment (machinery, tools...), (raw) materials
Very good knowledge of Autocad
Can work autonomously.
Able to plan well (working on several projects at the same time)
Can make decisions independently.
Looks for new techniques and offers ideas for innovation.
Proactive in approach to work
When problems arise, looks for solutions
Demonstrate a thirst for continuous learning. The company will support you to grow
Possess strong communication skills and is flexible to work outside standard hours as per business needs.
