Production Manager
Sheet Metal / Fabrication / Welding Experience Required
£44k Basic Salary with Anticipated Earnings of £55k+
Based in Letchworth
5D Recruitment is proud to be working with a leading engineering company based in the heart of the home counties. After seeing a sustained period of growth since its buyout eighteen months ago, we are looking to recruit a production manager, who will report into the Operations Director. Our client specialise in the manufacture of bespoke fabrications, enclosures, and structural steel used in a variety of industries including pharmaceutical, food, and the medical sectors.
Due to continued growth, we are recruiting for a Production Manager, who can not only manage the day-to-day production needs but will also be looking to continuously improve policies and processes.
What the role will involve for the Production Manager:
· Responsible for the day to day running of the production facility, including managing a team of twenty people.
· Be responsible for the planning of workload, including welding and fabrication, laser cutting, punching, and metal forming.
· Understand the products, workflow, and business to help shape the vision for the future.
· Man management of the staff, including coaching and mentoring staff, planning holidays, performance appraisals and disciplinary process.
· Meet head-on and address production challenges.
· Update and work with the ERP system.
· Work collaboratively with the management team to ensure quality of delivery.
· Manage the production plan and communicate workload and priorities to the shopfloor.
· Work with the Operations Director to devise, implement, and enforce H&S policies and procedures.
What we are looking for in a Production Manager:
· A self-starter, who can lead by example.
· A background in sheet metal fabrication.
· Experience managing sizable teams, with the ability to motivate people.
· Ability to work under pressure and be adaptable to last-minute changes.
