Civil Design Engineer

Job description

We are working with a rail contractor that are now looking for a Civil Design Engineer to join their expanding team. This position is open to both contractors (outside IR35) and permanent staff. The salary on offer to permanent staff is £40-50k. This role will require 5 days per week in the office as you'll be working as part of a collaborative team. The purpose of this role is to provide and produce design deliverables, calculations and drawings to a good standard. Principal responsibilities: Help to mentor the more junior members of the team: CAD Technicians, Junior and Graduate Designers Prepare design investigations, reports and specifications Ensure project change for design package is recorded Assist with estimating hours required for design packages Attend IDC meetings Key skills/experience required: 4-6 years of previous design experience would be ideal Strong technical knowledge Strong communicator IT competent Experience in temporary works design is desirable but not essential Knowledge and awareness of construction methods is desirable Qualifications: Graduate or have a HND A professional qualification would be advantageous
