WHAT TO EXPECT
W e have a fantastic opportunity for a role that will be joining Engineering Operations Department. The department is central to all of the Engineering Functions with the ability for our teams to interact with all functions across the business. The depth and breadth of activities that the department undertakes provides a fantastic opportunity to learn so much about our business and vehicles.
This opportunity sits within a Cross Functional Facilities team, and we have the responsibilities to deliver facilities on time to a high quality in order to support the lifecycle of a programme.
This role is key to help us in our successful delivery and provide a safe, smooth and efficient Test Facilities to our customers and our key stakeholders.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Lead Facilities activities across Powertrain Operations facilities.
- Key customer and supplier engagements and creation of plans to support requirements.
- Ensuring equipment is fit for purpose and plans for maintenance and quick resolution to unforeseen repairs.
- Ensure the control and management of specialist test equipment for current and future programs.
- Daily Team communications and Team deployment against priorities.
- Ensure compliance against IATF16949 and ISO17025 and take the lead during internal and external Audits.
- Promote/ Support Health & Safety, TPM and Training support SHARP and Zero Harm.
- Support in the development of processes and SPL’s to support Prototype Testing objectives.
- Support Apprentice, new starters and existing team member development.
- Develop and provide weekly team feedback and presentations regarding departmental objectives and issues.
- Undertake any other work as directed by their Line Manager in connection with their role as may be requested from time to time.
- Liaise and support third party test houses and suppliers as required.
- Support your line manager on the KPI implementation and reporting.
- Opportunities will also rise in this role to take on further opportunities from your line manager to help personally grow and develop your knowledge across the department.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential:
- Level 6 qualification in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Proven experience in leadership and workload management.
- Ability to Communicate clearly and effectively at all levels with the ability to negotiate and drive value for money.
- Experience with maintenance of test equipment.
- ICE and/or EDU, Battery facility operational knowledge.
- Natural problem solver with proven experience and structured approach to problem solving in a technical environment.
- Knowledge of company Health and Safety requirements, including Risk Assessment, COSHH and SDS.
- Experience in a testing environment, with a knowledge of measurement technology and facility maintenance requirements.
- Proactive attitude, willingness to learn new system/processes and bring creative thinking to process improvement.
- Ability to accurately and concisely present complex technical ideas or project issues to a diverse audience.
- Ability to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style.
- Ability to follow written and spoken instruction and interface well with customers.
- Ability to mentor and train others especially skilled associates and apprentices.
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Office competency to produce plans, presentations, graphs, process and Single Point Lesson (SPL) documents.
- Understanding of facilities & technologies and adhering to policies and procedures.
- Experience to use SAP or business tools.
- Previous experience in automotive manufacturing environment.
