Job Type: Full-time (45 hours per week)
Salary: £30,000 per year
Our client is looking for a Chef to join their new Bistro / Cafè / restaurant in Luton. They are a small family catering business in Bedfordshire that runs multiple coffee vans, food vans & three cafès. They are professional, agile and innovative.
The Role:
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation and production in the kitchen
- Create and develop new menu items
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented according to established recipes and quality standards
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation workers
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen area
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ensure high levels of customer service are maintained when dealing with customers
Their ideal candidate will:
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Driving Licence (preferred)
