About The Role
This role will be based Mon-Fri at our Head Office in Barton-upon-Humber, therefore you must be located within a commutable distance.
About the Role:
At Wren we are working on cutting-edge tools that enhance the customer experience throughout the purchase of their dream kitchen or bedroom.
As we venture forth, expanding from a UK-based company into the US market, our development team is constantly expanding and again we find ourselves needing to grow our Quality Assurance team even further. Our team is made up of talent from many industries - games, mobile, web applications - and homegrown through our apprentice programmes.
It will be your job to test the software we build many times over in order to spot any bugs and mistakes that need to be addressed.
As an apprentice at Wren, you will be assigned a personal mentor who will guide you through the apprenticeship program, helping develop your testing skills and build your portfolio. You will be working towards the Software Tester Level 4 Apprenticeship.
During the 18 months of training, you will learn the most up-to-date theory and industry practice across structured modules covering the duties required as a software tester. As a fully integrated member of a project team, you will help to deliver key projects within a scrum team.
On completion of the apprenticeship, you will progress to the role of a Software Test Analyst and continue to grow with Wren with a personal progression plan.

Training to be provided:
- To implement software testing procedures on software applications to ensure agreed errors and security issues are identified, recorded, prioritised and corrected.
- To review software requirements and specifications for software functionality and security.
- To design test strategies for projects.
- To design and build test cases, test scripts, and test procedures, with expected results.
- To develop and collect representative and realistic test data.
- To conduct a range of different software testing types.
- To accurately record the outcomes of test activities and maintain accurate test records and reports.
- To assess test results against expected results and acceptance criteria
- To present and communicate results effectively using appropriate communication styles and media.
- To comply with legislation and internal/external standards related to software testing and software security.

Duties include:
- Finding, reproducing, and reporting issues
- Providing clear analysis and detailed feedback through clear and concise reporting
- Creation and execution of detail test cases

About You
Who are we looking for?
- Effective communication of testing / progress, both verbally and in writing
- Capability to develop strong working relationships both internal and external
- Analysis of information to identify problems and issues, making effective decisions
- Excellent attention to detail

- A passion for IT and software
- 5 GCSEs grade A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English and Maths)
