Role: Cover Supervisor
Location: Slough
Salary: £80 to £100 per day
Start Date: As soon as possible
GSL Education are currently looking to appoint a number of Cover Supervisors for our client Schools in Slough, to undertake placements from as soon as possible . If you are considering a career in the education sector and want to gain experience before committing, or are a Teaching Assistant looking for a new, challenging and rewarding position, GSL Education would like to hear from you
As a Cover Supervisor your main responsibilities will be to:
- Supervisor classes across the curriculum in the event of a teacher absence.
- Ensure that pupils are engaging in pre-planned work.
- Manage pupil behaviour to create a safe and positive learning environment.
- Liaise with other staff members in regard to work being set and ensure you have all suitable resources.
- Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil attendance, engagement, and completion of work tasks.
To be a successful Cover Supervisor you should:
- Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher or be a Graduate considering a career in education.
- Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (training can be provided).
- Have the ability and willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance your professional development.
- Empathies with young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have the ability to use your own initiative to work flexibly and be able to respond to different situations.
Must hold a current Enhanced Child Only DBS registered with the update service or be prepared to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
