Job description
An opportunity for a Head of Sales to join an established food wholesaler and distributor. In this fast paced environment you will implement the agreed sales strategy for the region with responsibility for an internal sales team and field based sales team. Leading from the front you will create and exploit all opportunities to satisfy customer demands and deliver the required revenue and profit to the business unit.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for defining the overall sales strategy for the region.
- Initiate and implement the sales strategy relating to the management of key independent accounts.
- Lead and develop the team to identify every sales and profit growth opportunity in their sector in order to maximise all possible lines and achieving or exceeding sales budgets. This includes understanding all the commercial aspects of an account and achieving the profit margins through formulating budgets, analysing key data and making projections for each quarter
- Manage the development of the team effectively; performing day–to–day management and guidance, one to ones and appraisals etc.
- Prospect for potential new clients and turn these into increased business.
- Liaise with Senior Managers and Regional Account Managers to co–ordinate account activity effectively.
Essential experience for this role
- Ability and experience of leading and developing a team to gain customer loyalty and profit results
- Knowledge of sales principles and techniques which are used to negotiate the best deals
- Applies knowledge of the industry sector – decision makers, contacts, motives of people, margins, product groups, suppliers in order to grow the business
- Effective negotiation skills
- Evidence of analytical skills used understand customer business and how to improve profit and maximise sales
On offer is 70 – 80,000 basic salary, 30 – 40,000 OTE, and 8,100 car allowance, pension, healthcare plus further benefits.
