Job description
The Service
Great exciting opportunity within Hillcrest Futures to share your experience and skills and be part of setting up a new service. The service is based at Longfield Drive in the Fintry/Whitfield area of Dundee and is an intensive support service for individuals with learning and physical disabilities, dementia, mental health issues, autism, ADHD, challenging behaviour and complex needs. Working towards Autism Accreditation with the national Autistic Society will be an integral part of the service so an interest or experience in autism would be beneficial. The individuals will need support to keep their home and themselves safe and secure, while building a positive and fulfilling life.
The Role
Our Supported People have varying degrees of support needs including:
Personal care which may be intimate includes toileting, bathing and showering and dressing, assistance with mobility including the use of moving and handling equipment.
Medication support such as administering medication, topical application of creams etc.
Communication using a variety of tools.
Emotional, behavioural support including dealing with challenging behaviour.
Personal safety support.
Accessing local amenities and social activities.
Daily living skills cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping etc.
You Will
Be a good communicator both written and verbal.
Be organised with good timekeeping.
Be able to demonstrate transferrable skills relating to care.
Undertake a key working role that includes admin tasks and IT skills.
Be able to deal with challenges.
You will work as a part of a team
Be required to carry out sleepover and waking night shifts.
You should possess an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care, or undertake study to achieve this.
Be required to obtain registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.
