Job description

What you will do in your working day

• Checking the size of materials and preparing them to be joined
• Dismantling and cutting up metals
• Calibrate tools and operate welding equipment
• Follow engineering drawings and instructions
• Inspect and test joins using precision measuring instruments

The training you will be getting

• Level 2 Engineering Operative (Fab and Weld)
• Functional Skills in maths and English if required
• Development of knowledge, skills and behaviours required to complete the Engineering Operative (Fab and Weld)

All apprentices undertaking this apprenticeship must achieve - Mandatory qualifications:

Diploma in engineering operations (skills)

• Ofqual regulated
• Level of qualification: 2

Certificate or Diploma in engineering operations (knowledge)

• Ofqual regulated
• Level of qualification: 2

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

• To Progress onto Level 3 or equivalent Welding course
• This will lead to becoming a Fully Qualified Fabricator/Welder
