Main Responsibilities Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Develop, write, and implement product specifications that align with customer requirements.
- Monitor and review the availability and suitability of products in cold stores, and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure the smooth transition of finished products.
- Work with the Logistics and Commercial team to ensure that the product released from the site or cold store meets the specifications and requirements of the customers.
- Ensure that all documents are in place to demonstrate the correct chain of custody throughout the entire product journey.
- Manage the traceability matrix and conduct planned traceability exercises and mock recall exercises according to the schedules and in accordance with customers' and third-party requirements.
- Contribute to investigating complaints, complaint trends, unusual or serious complaints, and foreign matter complaints.
- Maintain the Non-Conforming Product Log, ensuring that all issues are logged, categorized, investigated, and that approvals and disposals are recorded, trended, and reported.
- Assist in compiling weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Ensure that procedures and policies are correctly implemented to meet regulatory, 2SFG, 2nd and 3rd party requirements and standards.
- Communicate, liaise, and escalate issues where necessary.
- Participate in site projects and ensure that food safety and quality requirements are considered in all site projects.
- Represent the company in food safety and quality matters to external regulatory bodies and customers.
- Undertake other tasks related to the effective operation and continual improvement of the FSQMS, Quality and Operational activities, and customer standards and directives that may be required from time to time or as a permanent addition to accountabilities and responsibilities.
- Support and stand in where required for other team members.
- Participate in site preparation for visits and audits.
- Play an active role in achieving site accreditation where applicable.
The Ideal Candidate Our ideal Technical Specification Administrator will have:
- Qualifications
- Intermediate HACCP and Food Safety as well as all applicable requirements of the 2SFG capability builder
- Internal Auditor – desired
- Experience
- Minimum 2 years in a Food Manufacturing environment in an auditing or compliance monitoring role.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for POAO
- Experience with 2nd and 3rd party standard requirements.
- Detailed knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Legislation.
- Skills
- Demonstrate flexibility in working hours to meet deadlines or production requirements
- Good communication skills and attention to detail, able to influence internally and externally
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to communicate professionally at all levels from customer technical representatives to manufacturing site personnel and consumers.
- Able to prioritise & organise own workload and work to time deadlines.
- Self-motivated and highly resilient
- Ability to problem solve and influence in a fast-paced environment with sometimes conflicting priorities
In addition to a minimum of 2 years of Food Industry experience, Food Safety & HACCP level 3, Internal Auditing Training, relevant scientific or food-related qualifications (degree desirable), food labelling and legislation experience would be an advantage.
