Job description
Applicants who are successful and work at Outwood Academy Danum, will be entitled to claim back their student loans yearly for an extensive time period (depending on when you qualified). (Application required - more information can be found here )
A Recruitment Bonus of £2,000 per annum will be paid to the successful candidate alongside the annual salary for 2 years following appointment.
AND you will be entitled to either:
Levelling up payment: £2500 per annum until 31 August 2025 for chemistry and physics teachers (Application required - more information can be found here )
OR
Early Career payment: £3000 per annum until 31 August 2025 (Application required - more information can be found here )

The post of Science Champion is a new and exciting learning and teaching role, you will support the Head of Department in developing through coaching the practice of colleagues in the department focused on KS3 and KS4. The leadership time allocated to this role will allow you to be proactive and model best practice and make a lasting impact in the department that will continue to improve the already positive progress outcomes. Your relentless drive will ensure our students gain the best possible outcomes. For the role of Science Champion Teacher, applications are invited from experienced professionals who want to continue as classroom practitioners but would also like time to dedicate to mentoring, coaching and developing other colleagues.
The role will build your portfolio of leadership skills and portfolio enabling you to move into the Head of Department or an SLT role within 2 years, alternatively you can experience the opportunity of being a Science Champion in another local OGAT academy.
The science department consists of passionate staff, ably led by a head of department, second in department and subject director who supports staff and students every week. We also have specialist technicians and two very talented science one to one tutors. As a team, we are a supportive unit determined to be our very best for them.
