Senior Education Welfare Officer - Peckham ***
We are currently working in partnership with Local authority in the Peckham area who are looking to appoint a Senior Education Welfare Officer within their Family Assessment & Early Help Service.
Contract - 3 - 6 month agency role with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.
Working Hours - Full Time Position (36 hours).
Location - Peckham, SE15.
Rate of Pay - £22+ per hour – Higher rates can be negotiated for more experienced candidates.
Main Duties:
Provide an effective education inclusion service in Southwark’s Family Early Help team, supporting children, young people, and families.
Work collaboratively with parents, young people, and schools to ensure compulsory school-age children access education.
Focus on promoting full-time attendance, preventing exclusion, and supporting steps to avoid permanent exclusion.
Deliver timely and effective services, including statutory responsibilities, parental responsibility measures, and addressing persistent non-attendance through legal planning.
Lead on education legal planning meetings, supervise orders, parenting orders, and related legal processes.
Contribute to identifying and addressing cases of children missing education.
Provide oversight and consultation to ensure timely and appropriate decisions are made in cases of persistent non-attendance.
Experience / Knowledge Needed:
Local Authority / Public Sector.
Family Assessments & Interventions.
Early Help Service Support.
