L3Harris in Tewkesbury and Fleet are part of our ICI division, we work closely with UK Government and Security Agencies primarily in the areas of crypto/cyber security, electronic warfare, counter drone capabilities and situation awareness projects.

This role sits within the Information Resilience (IR) Portfolio, delivering complex R&D projects and product development focused on Crypt-Key capabilities. You will report to the IR Portfolio Manager and be responsible for running multiple projects varying in size, but typically, 20 multi-disciplined engineers.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- To plan, specify and maintain the projects in line with the strategic plan/product roadmap ensuring benefits align, including Business Case generation.
- Create a detailed Risk Assumptions Issues and Dependency log for the project.
- Plan the projects and monitor their overall progress, manage risks, resolve issues and initiate corrective action to ensure projects are executed within the agreed schedule, cost and performance.
- Enact projects following the L3Harris defined project management process, including customisation of projects using the Project Tailoring Tool, following the Project Management Plan.
- Produce project management reports in line with the defined internal cadence and process.
- Where directed monitor the project using Earned Value Management providing SPI and CPI values.
- Work to support commercial aspects of the project including customer letters, change control and adherence to terms.
- Financial Management: Support the Integrated Business Planning production of sales and cash and invoicing. To be accountable for revenue and gross margin achievement on standard projects, monitoring the expenditures and costs as the projects progress. Reporting financial data and forecasts on managed and other identified projects.
- Lead the customer interaction and customer relationship management for allocated projects.
- Manage the project stakeholder community, including where appropriate holding Integrated Project Team meetings with Operations, Suppliers, Finance and Customers.
- Contribute to Produce Exec/Ops reports as requested. Plan, specify and manage the production of bid submissions working with bid management and also maintain future opportunity/demand schedules. Work closely with and provide support to the sales & marketing department to capture targeted customer funded business in accordance with company forecasts and plans.
Essential Skills:
- A minimum of 2 years project management experience including schedule, scope, risk and opportunities, resource and financial management and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills combined with experience of managing relationships with all levels of the business.
- Full project lifecycle experience including the practical and effective use of formal project and risk management tools and methodologies.
- Understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes/product lifecycle.
- Financial experience of reporting including sales revenue.
What else could be helpful to be successful in this role:
- APMP Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or Prince 2 Practitioner
- Business / Science / Engineering degree or HNC/HND or equivalent qualification
- Defence sector experience
