The Domestic Service Housekeeper will be responsible for the day to day running of the house including all conference rooms, dormitories, public toilets and general housekeeping. They will be the public face of the SCPH, meeting and greeting customers, conference users and residential groups. They will also be responsible for the ensuring that all our customers and client groups have everything they need in the rooms, they will brief them on the emergency procedures and inform them of any fire drills etc..
Responsibilities
- Housekeeping.
- To liaise with the Sales & Booking Manager to ensure centre and conference rooms are set up correctly in line with customer's requirements.
- To meet and greet all centre users, directing to their rooms and ensuring that all equipment requests are in place and name plates are up.
- They will check the booking diary daily to ensure that all rooms and facilities are set up, they will refer to the booking forms for specific details in terms of numbers, catering requirements etc.
- To ensure that the public toilets are clean and well presented for customers, that hand towels, toilet rolls and soap dispensers are checked and filled and that the daily checklist is completed at the required times.
- They will maintain the residential accommodation ensuring all facilities are maintained to the standard required and that the rooms meet the needs of the groups.
- They will meet and greet the residential groups on arrival, they will brief them on the evacuation procedures and general rules and regulations of the St Columb's Park House.
- They will liaise with the group pre-departure to gain feedback on their stay.
- Health and safety.
- To maintain, record and report any maintenance issues within the house and to report these to the Manager.
- To be trained as a First Aider for the centre and to ensure that the First Aid certificate is always current. To maintain the First Aid box ensuring contents are up to date.
- To record numbers using conference facilities at all times in line with the evacuation procedures.
- Residential duties.
- They will maintain the residential accommodation ensuring all facilities are maintained to the standard required, that the rooms meet the needs of the groups.
- To manage laundry ensuring all laundry is checked on return from cleaners and stored away.
- To ensure that all dormitories are clean, floors have been washed/hoovered and mattresses turned after each residential.
- To ensure that bathrooms are clean, shower heads and shower trays are properly cleaned and hand towels and soap dispensers are working and full.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Previous experience of housekeeping/domestic service duties in a commercial environment.
