Job Title: Director of Boarding (Teaching)

The role:
This is an exciting role and it offers the right candidate the fantastic opportunity to lead, develop and champion the boarding provision within the School and the Girls Day School Trust (GDST) as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. We are specialists in girls’ only boarding, with a highly experienced Boarding Team and we offer a warm welcoming community in an environment where girls’ individuality is truly nurtured.
The purpose of this role is:
• To strategically lead Boarding at RHB and promote Boarding within the GDST.
• To manage the boarding provision at RHB, being responsible for the general welfare and personal development of the boarders in accordance with the School policies and regulations provided by the National Minimum Standards for Boarding
• To manage and professionally develop the Boarding Team to ensure continuing high standards and experience within the department
• To be House Mistress of our 11-16 Boarding House
• To teach a proportion of the timetable in any subject
• To be responsible for whole school policies
The successful candidate will be:
• Someone who has extensive experience within Boarding, already managing a Boarding House or Boarding Team
• Someone who can bring innovative strategic thinking and commitment to this role, who has expertise and enthusiasm for girls’ boarding and pastoral care in the 21st century
• You must be able to maintain a high work rate, be good at multi-tasking and have exceptional organisation and time management skills
