Please note:
We would be interested to see CVs from an AMHP Hub person who can work a rolling rota.
The person will be required to travel to undertake assessments, and at times be in the Worthing office. There may also be some homeworking to write up assessments.
The person will need to be in West Sussex at the start of their shift and ready to work.

About the job
As part of this new service you will have support from the Service Manager and Hub Team Manager. Regular individual and peer supervision, commissioned specialist training will be available to enable you to maintain your knowledge and remain aware of any changes in legislation to enhance your practice.
The Hub consists of a Team Manager and two Hub AMHPs who work 9am-5pm and eight Hub AMHPs who work on a rolling rota, over a 24hr period. Shifts will typically be early and late.
You will be expected to work closely alongside colleagues in Crisis Teams, general acute hospitals, Sussex Police, South East Coast Ambulance service (SECAMB) and acute in-patient units.
You will be expected to work within organisational, policy and legislative requirements. You will be required to work within the Standard Operational Procedures Policies and Processes.

What you’ll need to succeed
You must be able to work autonomously and have extensive experience of delivering effective, efficient and high-quality social work interventions to promote positive change, independence and wellbeing when working with service users, carers and families.
You will be able to work effectively under pressure, managing the competing demands of a busy service. You will be able to demonstrate robust and clinically sound triage skills using risk management and assessment models.
You will be expected to allocate work based on urgency, risk, and priority in negotiation with other agencies and partners.
You must be resilient, reflective and resourceful and be able to work with limited managerial oversight.
You will be willing to share your knowledge and expertise, in order to develop the practice and skills of others.
You must be able to work outside office hours, on a rolling rota basis and be able to travel across the county.
West Sussex is a large county with both rural and urban areas, as the role is countywide, a driving licence is essential.

Qualifications and/or experience:
⦁ Registered qualified professional (Social Work, Nurse, OT, psychologist)
⦁ Currently authorised as an AMHP (Post-Grad Certificate in Mental Health)
⦁ Extensive knowledge of and be able to apply, a range of complex and specialist legislation i.e. the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, Children Act and other relevant case law
⦁ Valid driving licence
⦁ Extensive experience of working independently undertaking MHA assessments Essential
⦁ Extensive experience of working in Multi-Disciplinary settings. Desirable
⦁ Experience as an AMHP with extensive knowledge of the Mental Health Act and mental health social work practice
⦁ Practice Educator Award or commitment to undertake the training (or equivalent)
⦁ Able to demonstrate a proven ability (or understanding of the skills and knowledge required) to work independently as a senior practitioner managing risks and safeguarding

Key responsibilities
To work as part of a team providing a 24hr statutory AMHP Service.
To work in partnership with wider Mental Health Services (both SPFT and WSCC), to enable early identification of individuals who may be deteriorating and plan appropriate interventions.
To triage referrals, assess risk and prioritise for response.
