We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Ecologist to join our growing Natural Environment team. We are looking for an experienced individual who is passionate about the environment and who wants to make a positive difference to the natural world in one our most treasured landscapes.

The role is a permanent, full-time position.

This is a varied and interesting role, working across a number of disciplines with scope to learn and develop according to needs and interests. While we are looking for an ecologist with a broad range of skills, about 20% of the post will be providing woodland advice across Dartmoor. The post will be based at the Authority’s offices in Bovey Tracey. You will also be required to travel extensively within the National Park.

About You

To be successful you will need:

While we are ideally looking for an experienced Ecologist, we may consider recruiting an outstanding candidate with less experience to an Assistant Ecologist post at a lower grade (up to £31,364) We will also work closely with the successful candidate to identify and facilitate training and development needs to ensure you continue to grow with us.

For more information, or to discuss the role further, please contact Chris Giles (Head of Conservation & Land Management) by email at [email protected]
