Job Title : Head of Operational Finance
Location: Stoke On Trent
Salary: 60,000– 65,000

A highly respected professional services business is looking for an Operational Finance Manager to join their Finance department. This role would be suitable for anyone with management experience within transactional accounts in a professional services environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the finance operations teams (office ledger, purchase ledger and client account) ensuring exemplary data integrity and maximising the use of systems. This involves management of 4 direct reports with responsibility for a team of over 30.
- Take overall responsibility for the various reconciliations produced by the teams (eg bank reconciliations, supplier statements etc) and any payment runs.
- To be the main point of contact for operational finance issues and to investigate areas as required with an appropriate response and corrective action in a timely manner.
- Work closely with IT and the finance projects team to ensure smooth transition of acquisitions into the day–to–day financial processes.
- Liaise with the Financial Accounting and Reporting Manager to ensure both accurate and timely delivery of month/year end deadlines and tax compliance.
- Assist with the external audits and reporting as required.
- To be the main point of contact for the Finance transactions risk register and SAR audit, also taking responsibility for maintenance of compliance records for finance and monthly internal reporting.
Experience and attributes required:
- Expertise in Finance Operations processes, including payment fraud risk and experience of delivering process system improvement. – Essential
- Previous success in managing a large transactional accounts team–
- Previous experience working with a professional services environment –Desirable.
