Job description

Robert Half are working in partnership with a forward-thinking, reputable organisation in Melksham to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their finance function. This is a challenging, technical role that will be involved statutory accounts production, financial reporting, balance sheet review and aspects of management accounting. This exciting role will be suitable for an ACCA/CIMA/AAT studier that is looking for a step up in their career and being a part of a business renowned for offering progression and an excellent work culture. The salary is between £27,000 - £32,000 plus study support and other excellent benefits.

The Role

The main duties of the Assistant Accountant will consist of the following:

• Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts and financial statements.
• Assisting with the preparation of the quarterly reporting packs.
• Balance sheet reconciliations and review.
• Preparing tax/VAT submissions and returns.
• Accruals and prepayments.
• Fixed assets and verification.
• Supporting with the year-end audit process.
• Assisting with the management accounts process.

Requirements

To be considered for the Assistant Accountant role, you must ideally possess the following skills/attributes:

• Must ideally have financial or management accounting exposure.
• Must be an ACCA/CIMA/AAT studier.
• Proactive mindset.
• Hard work ethic.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Confident user of Excel.
