Job description

The starting salary for this role is £10,558 per annum for working 11.5 hours per week, 33 weeks per year (379.50 hours per year). Please be aware that although the advertised working hours are correct at present, these are subject to change each term.

Surrey Arts is the lead youth music organisation in Surrey, and we provide music lessons, instrument hire, out of school music centres, activities and ensembles for young people.

About the role

We now have an opportunity for a Cello Teacher to join our talented team of experienced and committed teaching staff. Across 33 weeks of the academic year, you will deliver high quality and innovative music education to children and adults at various schools and venues around the county.

In this role, you will be supported by a team of Administrators and an Area Manager to organise your schedule and timetables. You will also be provided with annual paid CPD and training opportunities.

You will join a team dedicated to "changing lives through world class arts". Surrey Arts is an ambitious and forward-thinking organisation that places young people at the centre of our work. We currently have the following position available:

East Surrey Area (Redhill and Ashstead) - A cello specialist with optional upper strings or piano. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday after school at the music centre. Additional daytime school hours teaching is also available for a teacher of upper strings and/or piano.

This is a peripatetic role where teaching takes place during the school day, after school and at the weekend, at various schools and music centres in Surrey.
