Housing Services Manager - Interim - West London Hybrid
London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Housing Services Manager to join their Housing Services team at their Hammersmith offices.
This is an interim role to start ASAP and will pay £230 per day PAYE and £300 per day Umbrella. This is a hybrid role and will involve working 2-3 days at their offices in Hammersmith. The main purpose of the Housing Services Manager will include:
- To lead and manage the Neighbourhood Housing Services team in delivery of a value for money area neighbourhood service, that supports residents to live in safe and sustainable communities and improves resident satisfaction and quality of life and opportunity.
- To be responsible for the provision of a 9 - 5 office reception service that meets residents’ needs.
- To be responsible for the day-to-day management and running of the area office building, ensuring cleaning and maintenance contracts are effectively managed, requirements (including compliance with fire-safety regulations) are met and maintained, and other service teams located in the building comply with rules and regulations.
- To support the council to make the best use of the council’s housing stock by taking the strategic lead on void management and performance for Housing Services.
- To manage provision of back office administration support to the Neighbourhood team, Specialist Housing team, Occupancy team and Head of Neighbourhood Services.
The ideal Housing Services Manager will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Experience of managing neighbourhood housing in a social housing environment and dealing successfully with the challenges to which this can give rise.
- Track record of successfully managing a team to drive effective performance and service and establishing a positive performance culture.
- The ability to translate strategic objectives into operational plans
- Experience of successfully managing a voids and re-housing service to maximise income.
- A track record of budget management and assessing and managing risk.
- Proven success in developing effective working relationships, partnerships with other agencies and communicating with and influencing others.
- A good understanding and knowledge of housing and other relevant legislation and regulatory framework which governs housing and case law.
- Evidence of a clear understanding of all aspects of neighbourhood services, including estate management, tenancy management and customer services.
- Able to provide strategic leadership and clear direction
- Able to plan and manage successful projects, manage risks, costs and time.
- Able to analyse and interpret data to plan resources effectively.
