Job description

Quality Assurance Engineer
£38,000 - £40,000
Berinsfield

Responsible For:
Managing processes encompassing the inspection of raw materials upon arrival and moulded components throughout the manufacturing facility. Conducting quality inspections of supplied GRP moulded components and other critical items, while initiating and facilitating corrective actions with relevant suppliers. Maintaining the company's Non-Conformance Report (NCR) database and assisting with the implementation of the Integrated Management System ISO 9001/ISO 14001.

General Description:
  • Conducting quality control inspections upon goods receipt to efficiently and promptly address and resolve all quality-related non-conformities
  • Maintaining and updating the company's Quality Assurance database (NCR) with the objective of reducing both internal and external non-conformities
  • Providing QA data to support the Supply Chain Lead in setting supplier targets
  • An individual with initiative, proactivity, excellent time management skills
  • The ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet objectives
  • Possessing a keen eye for detail to identify potential quality-related issues, being forward-thinking, and process-driven
  • Collaborating closely with Purchasing, Production, and Technical departments, and proficient in data analysis
  • Applying a systematic approach to effectively communicate quality information and collaborate with production engineers to address quality-related issues
About the role:
  • Maintaining an acceptable inspection level for required components upon goods receipt
  • Monitoring and maintaining the goods inward QA inspection process to ensure incoming materials meet required drawings and quality standards, ensuring continuous supply to production
  • Facilitating supplier development activities through visits and audits to implement corrective actions
  • Recording all Inspection reports and raising Service Calls (Non-Conformity Reports) to clearly identify, track, and resolve QA-related issues promptly
  • Reviewing and developing task-specific work instructions in collaboration with Product development and Production support. Periodically reviewing shop floor work instructions to ensure they are well-maintained
  • Supporting the Purchasing Team in collecting and reviewing supplier metrics with the aim of improving supplier performance and parts delivery to the factory
  • Providing quality data feedback to production teams through regular meetings, including team leaders and supervisors, highlighting areas for improvement
  • Providing information for quarterly reports on QA performance
More about the role:
  • Ability to travel and visit suppliers and conduct internal and external QA audits as required
  • Strict adherence to and implementation of health and safety regulations is integral to the role
  • Promoting company values within the team and ensuring adherence to the company code of conduct and ethics
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of three years' previous experience in a similar QA role within a fast-moving production environment
  • Professional qualifications are advantageous
  • A good standard of general education. Proficient in MS Office, Adobe software, and SAP
  • Experience with Quality Management System (QMS) procedures
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Problem-solving skills such as 6S or 8D
  • Understanding and experience of robust QA procedures

Hours:
  • 40 hours per week (8 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Friday), 30 minutes lunch
