Job description
- Management of Advanced Product Quality Planning from design concept through to introduction into production, covering the full supply chain, through to Vehicle Manufacturer level customers.
- Regular reporting of status to all levels of management within the company and to customers
- Global management of the customer across all levels and regions
- Monitor and verify production processes, developing opportunities to improve product quality and reduce scrap.
- Provide technical support to all areas of the production process, interfacing with other functional groups as required.
- Development of product control plans and manufacturing instructions
- Conduct internal audits in accordance with internal procedures and TS16949:2009 requirements.
- Ensure measurement and test activities are conducted in a timely manner including accurate reporting and storage of test results.
- Compile the testing, investigation, and feedback of all Product & Process related issues.
- Work with production and support departments to assist in meeting production targets in quality cost and delivery to satisfying customer demands quality, demands.
- Maintain quality system procedures, work instructions and documentation and ensure staff adhere to these.
- Support TS16949 and ISO140001 and customer accreditation and retention.
- Promote and work to continually improve by increasing efficiency and reducing the cost of quality, in areas such as scrap, downtime and PPM.
- Ensure highest standards of housekeeping using 5S principles.
- Ensure Plant MSA, Calibration, Stress Analysis ESD Audit Control & Plant Layout Inspection systems are maintained.
- Co-ordinate internal concerns – root cause analysis using 8D and 3x5Y Methods.
- Co-ordinate Process Safe Launch Activities – Monitor actions & improvements
- Monitor costs of customer claims and work with Finance and Design in reducing
- Ensure customer APQP / PPAP / PSW submissions within programme requirements.
- Ensure timely and effective QRCM activities are taking place when required.
- Involvement with the APQP programmes from design concept through to volume introduction into production, covering the full supply chain from sub suppliers through to VM level customers.
- Organise activities and collection of data to ensure the maximum opportunity is presented to Purchasing for cost of quality recovery.
- Monitor and verify production processes, developing opportunities to improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency and reduction in rejection / scrap levels.
- Provide technical support to all areas of the production process interfacing with other functional groups as required.
- Ensuring process alignment and internal improvement activities.
- Assisting with new product introductions including Run At Rate.
Experience Required:
3 – 5 years in a senior role within automotive industry
Experienced in leading a team of staff.

- Must be able to keep calm, constructive and disciplined when under pressure.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 / TS 16494 requirements

- Self-motivated.
- Problem solving, technical and analytical capability eg 8D methodology, 5Y etc
