Job description
Standard working hours would be 08.30 till 17.30, Monday to Friday. However, during busy periods, the successful candidate will be required to work weekends, evenings or night shifts as required from event to event. An overtime structure will be available.

We now have the opportunity for an experienced Service & Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will work with the wider technical and warehouse team.
The role would suit an individual with a background in electronics and previous experience working in repairs and maintenance. The role will involve working with a range of equipment including lighting fixtures, LED screens, consoles, audio equipment and a range of cable and accessories. While industry experience is desirable, a programme of product specific training could be provided for a candidate that has existing experience in a different industry sector. The salary is therefore variable to suit the experience of the candidate.
Core Duties:
- Undertake the routine service, repair, cleaning and maintenance of fixtures and equipment, ensuring all company equipment is kept in pristine condition and uphold the companies exceptional standards and attention to detail.
- Triage and escalate repairs to the bench technician where required.
- Carry out on site repairs of equipment as appropriate. This may include occasional out of hours call out when required.
- Manage the company maintenance schedule and reporting to ensure an efficient pro-active and re-active maintenance process.
- Timely and accurate reporting for all site visits, service, maintenance and repair work carried out including advice for remedial or advisory work and the associated costing for customers.
- Provide telephone technical support to the wider team as required.
- Pro-actively help develop new methods and techniques to improve the companies servicing accuracy and efficiency.
Additional Duties:
- Utilising Current RMS rental management software to manage the equipment inventory and update status of available equipment.
- Assist the warehouse team with the upkeep of the warehouse / workshop equipment and ensure company facilities are kept clean and tidy
- Fitting asset labels and branding to equipment and data entry into rental management system.
- Assist in manufacturing cable, parts and products using production, workshop and CNC facilities
- Complying with the company’s paperwork process to create hire agreements, service and quarantine notes and compliance with company health and safety procedures.
- Assisting the wider warehouse department in all aspects of the day to day company operations as required. As a member of the warehouse team this may also include loading / unloading of vans and trucks, prepping/de-prepping equipment from hire during peak periods.
What key skills are required:
- A good understanding of technical equipment including lighting systems, audio systems and LED video wall
- Excellent fault-finding skills, ability to read service manuals and troubleshoot at module level is essential. Ability to work at board level is an advantage but not essential.
- Good use and understanding of tools, test equipment and ability to work independently to deconstruct fixtures in modules and rebuild efficiently.
- Soldering experienceand ability to work with small components.
- Experience of Portable Appliance Testing is an advantage but not essential.
- Ability to work at heightand current IPAF card is an advantage but not essential.
