Inspiring and enthusiastic member of staff required with experience in teaching A Level Business Studies and/or A Level Economics. We are looking for a full-time member of staff with dynamism and passion for their subject. Applications from ECTs and Teachers in Schools and Sixth Form College sectors are welcome. A full mentoring programme is arranged to introduce all new staff to sixth form college systems and procedures and to support and encourage professional development. We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join the team, and inspire our students. We expect high performance from all our staff and candidates should demonstrate their ability and suitability to both the role and the culture of the College.
Woking College’s A Level Business and Economics Department is one of the largest and most dynamic departments in the College. Following a sharp increase in student applications the Department was split into two distinctive offers of A Level Business & Economics and Vocational Business enabling a greater degree of specialised teaching.
A Level results are excellent with a 98% pass rate in both Business and Economics with the majority of students progressing to their first choice universities or degree apprenticeships with top employers like Bloomberg, Amazon and British Airways. Ex-students are encouraged to return to College to offer career talks and peer support.
The Department offers a range of extracurricular activities and business focused trips to Brussels, Disneyland Paris and Thorpe Park which encourage students to extend their studies beyond the classroom.
Students are set challenging targets and have enjoyed success in external competitions such as the Bank of England Target 2.0, The Stock Market Challenge and Surrey County Council’s Marketing Challenge. In addition, students have the opportunity to take part in the College’s E.P.Q and Excellence Programme.
The Department has a strong community ethos of supporting all students, offering regular support workshops and an annual Easter revision conference.
Start Date: Tuesday 27 August 2024
Salary: £32,895 to £48,355 pa, depending on experience (including fringe allowance). These figures include the recently announced 6.5% pay increase.
