Civil Enforcement Officer

Dover District Council

Location

Dover, Kent | United Kingdom

Job description

The Dover District is steeped in history, but actively regenerating with multi-million-pound investments in new commercial and leisure developments, and new homes. Combining stunning coast and beautiful countryside, the Dover district is a great place to live, work and play. Here at DDC we are at the heart of this transformation with our vision to create a more prosperous district.

A career with DDC means you're making a real difference in the community; something you can be proud of, and that is why we are excited to be recruiting a new Civil Enforcement Officer to join our current existing team of enthusiastic, creative, innovative and committed Officers. Can you be one of these?
In return we offer a competitive salary package, generous annual leave, local authority pension and private medical care.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with good communication skills and the ability to deal calmly and professionally with difficult situations, who will be able to work over a 7-day week shift pattern.

As a CEO, you will carry out the enforcement of parking restrictions, patrolling either on foot or by vehicle throughout the entire Dover district. This includes Deal, Sandwich, and all rural areas. You will be required to patrol both on street and in car parks and, if necessary, issue penalty charge notices to parked vehicles found to be contravening the parking restrictions that are in force.

You will be required to assist the general public with any Council related enquires to provide high levels of customer satisfaction and to report issues such as pot holes, streetlights, abandoned cars, graffiti, and rubbish to the relevant department/agency, acting as the Councils ‘eyes and ears’ so as to improve the street scene environment.

If you have the skills required and appetite to succeed and make a difference, we look forward to receiving your application.

The role requires a full, clean UK driving licence for a manual geared vehicle.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant will be required to undertake a Standard DBS check as part of their pre-employment clearances.

As this role involves the use of vibration equipment, any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory medical clearance. We will ask you to complete a medical questionnaire which will be sent to our occupational health medical advisor and as a result of this you may be asked to undergo a medical.
