Salary information: MPR - UPR, £34,514 - £51,179 per annum + TLR 2a; £3,214 + SEN Allowance £2,539

Contract type: Full time, Permanent

Moorcroft is a school for secondary age young people with Severe, Complex and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, and ASD. We are part of Eden Academy Trust with 7 other special schools and are planning to open two new free schools in the next few years.

Moorcroft School is looking for a Head of our 11-13 department to complement our Senior Leadership Team for the start of the Autumn Term 2024. As well as leading a class of students you will also be responsible for the development of the Key stage 3 curriculum and monitoring the implementation of the curriculum provision through teachers’ planning, lesson observations and assessment of student data and progress. You will also be responsible for developing the transition plan for our new Year 7 students.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and hardworking candidates, with a passion for young people with severe learning difficulties, to join our school team. We are particularly looking for candidates seeking a challenge by working with young people with social and emotional learning difficulties often presented by challenging behaviour.  

We offer a bespoke professional development programme for teachers at all levels including middle and senior management training programmes. The position may suit a teacher wanting to take their first step in school leadership as there are exciting opportunities throughout the academy to step up to the role of an Assistant Head, Deputy Head, Head of School or Headteacher. You also will have an opportunity to work collaboratively throughout the Eden Academy and alongside our multi-professional team.
