Location: Redditch
Hours: 8.30am-5.00pm
Permanent

The Quality Inspector / CMM Operator Job Role:
The CMM Operator / Quality Inspector will be responsible for the Inspection of components/products using state-of-the-art TESA manual Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) with Inspect3D-Pro software, and manual measuring equipment such as verniers, callipers, and micrometres. The role requires you to perform detailed dimensional inspections on a variety of components/products, manufactured in-house and from external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities of the Quality Inspector / CMM Operator:
- Conduct internal component inspections and supplier quality control activities for CNC machined parts, sub-assemblies, fabricated components, powder-coated components, and shot-blasted components.
- Utilise manual measuring equipment, including verniers, callipers, and micrometres, to conduct precise measurements and inspections.
- Perform manual CMM inspections using TESA machines and Inspect3D-Pro software to ensure the dimensional accuracy and quality of components.
- Perform batch spot checks and 100% checks as required to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
- Update quality documentation, implement quality processes, and maintain accurate records of inspection results using MS Word and Excel.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify and address quality issues, deviations, non-conformances, and concessions.
- Assist in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
The Ideal Quality Inspector / CMM Operator Candidate:
- You will have previous experience as a Quality Inspector / CMM Operator in a manufacturing environment, conducting internal component inspections and supplier quality control activities, preferably within the automotive or precision components industry.
- You will have a strong knowledge of manual measuring equipment and measuring techniques, including verniers, callipers, and micrometres.
- You will be proficient in CMM inspections using manually driven machines.
- Experience using TESA CMM with Inspect3D-Pro software would be advantageous.
- You will require the ability to perform detailed dimensional inspections on CNC machined parts, sub-assemblies, fabricated components, powder-coated components, and shot-blast components.
- You will have a methodical approach to working, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to present inspection results in a clear, concise manner.
- You will have excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing measurements and inspections.
- You will have a proactive attitude towards quality improvement and continuous learning.
- SAP experience is desirable but not essential.
