Job Profile for Junior Mechanical Design Engineer - 00268466

Mechanical Design Engineer required for a family owned manufacturer of machinery and equipment based in Ashford.

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview

• Using AutoCAD and Inventor

• Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, this appointment involves all aspects of mechanical design for heavy machinery, extrusion tooling and process plant, and also the provision of technical documentation and support to our global customer base.

• The successful applicant will be working on production equipment much of which, being customer specific, is for one-off manufacture.

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Requirements

• Mechanical Engineering qualifications would be ideal
• Experience of AutoCAD and Inventor or other 3D packages
• Experience of manufacturing and how that applies to design
• Willingness to travel on average 2 - 3 times per year
• Solid practical experience and understanding of inspection and quality control procedures
• Experience of machining of metals
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Remuneration

This is a full time position of 37 hours per week, working 08.00 - 16.30 Monday to Thursday, and 08.00 - 13.00 Friday

Salary dependent on experience likely £25k-£35k
