The Salary for this role is £44,199 - £56,113
This role will be predominately working on a hybrid basis with travel to sites when required.
As a Solar Designer you will work on Validating domestic and commercial Solar designs for suitability to install at one of our various sites ensuring that we meet our installation and business targets.
You will also be working to improve Solar processes including the technical survey, handovers, G99, Structural Assessment, system designs and bill of material specifications. You will engage with various stakeholders through the value chain working predominantly at home with occasional visits to our sites when needed.
This role is key to shaping activity across key stakeholders such as Sales Managers, Technical Surveyor Supervisor, Designers, Installation Supervisors and specifiers to deliver business GM and NPS performance.

Other responsibilities include:
- Be the main operational support of the post-survey customer journey and final validation for installs to meet MCS criteria
- Complete design validations on domestic and commercial Solar surveys to confirm suitability to install.
- Provide feedback and support to surveyors/designers to further improve knowledge/understanding and SLA's
- Support the technical survey & design manager and a team of direct labour technical surveyors, ensuring that they are meeting E.ON standards, are compliant, safe and meet customers’ needs.
- Track and support on job statuses & SLA’s. Customer centricity & delivery timescales is the focus.
- Support all technical back-office tasks e.g. reviewing and approving all technical surveys, supply chain management, troubleshooting technical problems etc.
- Management of external partners for scaffolding designs and structural assessment delivery
- Have direct input, ideas and support the implementation of new processes and customer journey not currently developed, whilst also improving upon existing ones to offer best customer experience
What we need from you
Essential
- Practical technical experience on domestic and commercial Solar and Storage survey, design and install processes.
- Knowledge of scaffolding principles to TG20 standards
- Electrically qualified to 18th edition standard
- Back-office experience with a strong attention to detail, as you will be dealing with data analysis
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work flexibly on site and in office environments.
- Able to provide technical training to colleagues
- A demonstratable track record in achieving goals and objectives, both individually and through others.
- Ability to develop and manage effective working relationships across various business areas.
- Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications.
- Full valid UK driving licence
Desirable
- Be able to accurately report through Microsoft Dynamics
- EasyPV experience for Solar Surveys
- Domestic EV survey or install experience
- Experience of surveying residential and commercial properties for various energy solutions.
