Job description
Mechanical Design Engineer
Responsibilities within the role:
• Ownership and delivery of projects
• Take System, Structural and functional requirements from the product team specification and deliver the required detailed solution.
• Innovative design solution generation for New Product Introductions, Service fixes and product improvements.
• Ensure the product, system design, meets all Legislation, Customer Requirements, and system Cost Targets.
• Design detailing, Accurate BOM compilation and drawing release.
• Prototype build support and testing
• Coordinating with other parts of the engineering team as required.
• Failure investigation and analysis, including introduction of containment and countermeasures.
• Identification and implementation of cost reduction opportunities.
About you:
• Degree qualified in a mechanical engineering or similar discipline.
• Possess effective communication skills, oral and written, enabling them to interact with a wide variety of team members of various levels of the company hierarchy.
• 3D CAD system operation experience
• A sound grasp of engineering principles.
• Enthusiastic, self-starting, and Pro-active.
• Experience of working or willingness to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
