Job description

If so, Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our team and support students in a secondary school in Weymouth.

This school believes that education should empower young people, giving them the knowledge to make sense of the world around them and the tools to shape it. Their curriculum gives students access to the best that has been thought and written across academic disciplines. The school is supported by a broad range of additional extra-curricular opportunities and has excellent facilities on site. You will be mainly supporting SEND students in their SEND departments. Working on a 1-1 basis and also group working.

Position: Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant
Type: Full time or part time roles
Hours: 0830-1530
Location: Weymouth
Pay: Between £80-£90 a day

Job Description: As a Dedicated Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping students with SEND thrive in their educational journey. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-on-one or group support to students with varying special educational needs.
- Assisting with classroom activities and ensuring students' safety and well-being.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Supporting students in developing their social, emotional, and academic skills.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred whether that’s a carer/support worker, youth worker etc.
- A passion for supporting students with SEND and a commitment to their development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Patience, empathy, and adaptability.
