What's the role? The Security Training Team are an integral part of the airport operation.
As a Security Trainer you will be responsible for designing & delivering training across the business for both new and existing employees, ensuring that appropriate training is provided to fulfil their role, always looking at ways to continuously improve our standards.
As a role model, you must be positive, engaging and inclusive, meeting the requirements of the CAA syllabus and national regulations.
What you'll be doing?- Proactively review and update training material to ensure any legislative changes are included taking personal accountability for the necessary research, to ensure validity of programmes
- Conducting summative and formative assessments to ensure standards are achieved for classroom and on job training, communicating concerns to relevant managers - to reduce non compliance
- Completing “wash ups” for each training course and putting action plans in place to capture the learning conducting the necessary QA for all training content
- Develop and design programmes that deliver compliance and business need continuously improving quality
- Ensuring necessary assessments and on job training is completed with permitted timeframes to reflect live SOPs. There are physical duties incorporated within this role - (e.g. body, bag searching physical demonstrations)
Do you have what we're looking for?- Knowledge and experience of aviation security industry and CAA / DfT legislation
- Strong working knowledge of aviation / airport security
- A good standard of written and oral communication
- Must be proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, and Word and competence with Microsoft Excel would be an advantage with the ability to build training presentations including trainer's notes, and session plans.
- Facilitation and presentation skills are essential in this role, with the ability to deliver training courses when required to both small and large groups.
- Highly effective organisational skills: (e.g., able to manage own workload to deliver against deadlines and targets)
- Ability to manage stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels.
- A strong effective 'team player' who works collaboratively with their peers on delivery and product design.
- Creative in delivery, but within DfT /CAA legislation / syllabus
- Flexibility including working hours and product delivery.
- Current Certified Instructor Number (CIN) (Essential) - CAA Recertification completed in 2023 for GSO Initial (Core & Ground modules)
- Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) or equivalent (Essential)
- Recognition of Firearms and Explosives Instructors course (RFXI) qualification (Essential)
